This school focuses a lot on the problems and students who have problems. The other students are expected to just put up with the misbehavior of many students in classes. So much time is wasted in class dealing with difficult and unruly students. It helped a little to have AP and other college-level classes where most of those students were not. I did not appreciate having class time shortened because of behavior problems of a few students. It seems as if the administration does not want those students to be sent out of class. It is not fair to the students who want to learn or the teachers who are expected to put up with the disrespect and unruly behavior.

Carlinville High School was not the high school you want to send your kids to if you want; Diversity, Non-Cliques, or a school that could care less about your kids. I was a student at CHS for 4 years, and my best year there was my Freshman year after that, all the students were so hateful. I think I had about 2 friends at the end of the school year that cared. And don't even get me started on the teachers and administration... they could care less about you and you're mental and physical state. AND GOD FORBIDDDD you go to the bathroom during class... I was going through something at home and a certain Algebra teacher just didn't understand why I stayed home so much and couldn't wrap her head around why my homework wasn't done. Just a school that could care less about you

They prepared students very well for college. There was a strong lack in the fine arts department. Only one form of art class, choir is not recognized as important, and often the band is pushed aside. Sports are very valued

I am of the 2013 graduating class of Carlinville High School! I couldn't imagine a better school to attend. They have a harder curriculum which pushes students to do even better than the "average" student. Due to this I found college so much easier and got a 4.0 both semesters of my first year at co...

Carlinville High School is nothing but a popularity contest. If your parents aren't someone important and you aren't sporting a big last name you can forget ever trying to get any help or be accepted into any clubs or activities. The school doesn't have enough school spirit and the clubs and activit...
