Great community and overall excellence. It has been a generally safe environment, although there is always room for improvement. The teachers try to help students to the best of their ability and make them feel comfortable.

Carterville High School was a pretty decent school overall. But, there were some major issues in general that need to be touched on. Most of the student body was stuck up. There was also no diversity at all. The grading scale was absolutely ridiculous. Even though most colleges base your grades on a 4.0 scale, Carterville was on a strict 5.0 scale. On the other hand, bullying was always handled promptly and the teachers tried to help you as much as possible.

Carterville High School is truly a great environment for your child to make memories. The teachers there are absolutely superb, trying their best to help students do the best they can in life. Academically, this school is one of the best in the area(in my opinion) and also prioritizes the safety of their students as well. I would not only recommend Carterville High School, but the whole district to anyone looking for a nice school for their child.

I've put 5 kids through Carterville Schools. Number 5 is a sophomore at Carterville High School. Academically excellent school and prepares kids for college and beyond. Two of my sons played football all four years and every year went to playoffs, one son playing on two back to back perfect 9-0 seas...

I went to Carterville High School until my family moved to Iowa in 1960. Would this be the same building? I remember some of the kids names like Rex Cisco,Ronny Dennison, David Cheniworth, and my cousin Jack Walker. My name is Bobby Walker. If you remember me e mail me please.
