Honestly, I love Wake STEM. It was my dream school for years, and after being here for 2.5 years, it did not disappoint. The staff is absolutely amazing, and the students and general culture is just... wow. I will say that if you are looking to apply, be prepared to have (1) no say in what classes you take until junior/senior year and (2) almost exclusively take AP courses.

I love the amount of support that students were offered in the school. The classes are tough, but they are manageable when you figure out how to time manage. The school, in my eyes, shows you not only how to fail but how to come back even stronger than before. We learned a lot about how to 'fail forward.' I also have loved the experience of being on NC State campus and learning how college works with the support of my high school. This school has gotten me very prepared for college and the time management that is required in life.

I have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.

It was meant to be for those families whose parents had never achieved a college education. Instead, it turned out to be an elite school where you are never given the opportunity to take average classes (for instance, the only seated US History class is AP - not advanced or regular).
