GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

North Vermillion has always strived to make their students their number one priority. The staff continuously pushes you to be your best self and to strive for excellence. If you're struggling on comprehending a lesson, the teachers make time to sit down and explain it until you can grasp the concept. Overall, there is no other place I'd rather be but North Vermillion.

If I could do it all over again I would defiantly pick the same school. It's a small school, and therefore everyone is pretty close to each other. Not many schools can say their school community is as close as ours is.

Teachers are very willing to help out all children. If something is not understood teachers will gladly go over the materials again. Communication is great.

As a former student, I was honestly shocked to read some of the comments on this site. Does North Vermillion value sports, they absolutely do. But if they had teams that were year in and year out competing for championships and they didn't do one thing to promote them, there'd be another group of pe...

This school places absolutely no value on academics. Sports are all that matter here, and even then, students will not thrive after high school with terrible test scores and overall lack of education. This is by far one of the least educated communities I have ever witnessed. This school will fail s...

Very poor administration. Academics are not valued at all. Football and sports are the main focus, and those who are either gifted or challenged will not receive the help or guidance needed. Advanced placement is not an option. Extracurricular activities are extremely limited. Even elective courses...

Do not send your children to this school. The test scores here are extremely worrisome. Not only is there no preparation or concentration on the SAT/ACT, there's also only a handful of students who pass both sections of the ISTEP each year. A lot of the teachers don't really stay "on track" as far a...
