Cedar Springs High School is the final step in a student’s journey through Cedar Springs Public Schools. This rural district in north Kent County is known for robust extracurricular opportunities, including Future Farmers of America, fine arts programs and competitive sports. The high school is located near the elementary school campus, so older students often set up tutoring for younger kids. The school competes in the Ottawa-Kent Conference in football, competitive cheer, soccer and softball, just to name a few. Cedar Springs Red Hawks can participate in three full seasons of indoor and outdoor athletics thanks to the Red Hawk Stadium and other nearby fields. Preparation for future academic endeavors is important at Cedar Springs High. Advanced placement classes help prepare students for rigorous college courses, and the Early Middle College Program provides students with an associate degree after five years of high school. Prospective students can also earn the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy to demonstrate their proficiency in at least two languages. Language course offerings include French, Spanish and English.

Most of the teachers are really nice, and are good at teaching. The students can be a little rude. I'd like to see more basic life skills being taught, things like first aid or car maintenance.

I have really enjoyed Cedar Springs Public Schools. I have two sons who attend there. Both are very involved in their high school sports especially soccer. WIth the guidance of the teachers and administration at these schools, my sons have become fine young adults, excellent athletes, and members of the Honor Roll.

Cedar Springs High School is a relatively small school in the community of Cedar Springs. One of the best parts about the school is the staff—especially the principal Todd Simmons. Mr. Simmons came into the school and greatly impacted the student body. He increased the school event awareness and always proved he cared about all of the students.

I am currently a Jr. at CSHS and i have to say i am very disappointed. The teachers at this school are okay but some of them just need to look for another job, i have tried learning with these teachers but they rarely even get anything across with me. I can tell many MANY other students have this is...
