I had originally come here because of wake county's poor AIG program, but I made a huge mistake. This school's LEAP program is horrible.

The teachers there were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and taught in an engaging and interesting style. Course options were diverse, and I generally had a pleasurable experience there. My only concern is the lack of challenging courses for 6th and 7th graders. I was unable to take AP courses (or preAP courses offered) as a 6th grader, and yet found the math and english courses quite easy. The addition of more challenging courses would be great.

Smith is one of the best middle schools in the district. I had the best times during my 3 years at this school. The teachers are amazing, and there are plenty of electives from which to choose.

Very welcoming when my daughter began in 2/17. I saw her blossom overnight at Smith. She has improved in every class. She made the A/B roll and she struggled at her last school. I'm very happy with the school and the staff.

Nice facilities, great staff, academics, sports and clubs! Global Connections is a focus/elective worth taking. Extra activities (dances, global connections night, etc.) are great for the school community.

I love this school! The teachers are very smart, and know what they are doing! I have met new friends and am very happy with this school!

I sometimes think this must be the best middle school in the country. My son just finished his first year here and he can't wait to go back for 7th grade. The principal and the majority of the teachers are excellent. The kids get along well - it is a diverse and accepting community of young people....
