It’s a great day to be a Gator! This headline greets parents each week in the Gator Gazette, a newsletter that keeps Green Trails families informed of the latest school news.
That news might include information about upcoming events, such as the school’s book fairs, a trivia night, or the annual hoedown. It may share highlights from events, like the school’s beloved Passport Night, when the school community gets the opportunity to learn about different countries and cultures.
This event typifies the school’s culture of embracing diversity and learning opportunities. Home to an English Speakers of Other Languages program, the school integrates students from around the world. Every Green Trails student is seen as an individual and is welcomed into a child-centered environment. The result is a sense of warmth and belonging that can be felt throughout the school.
Students at Green Trails also get the unique opportunity to spend time in the school’s community garden. Green Trails is one of few elementary schools in the area where students can experience planting seeds, watching them grow, then harvesting and eating the produce.
Green Trails teachers and staff are proud of their partnership with parents, who are involved in an active PTO that hosts events and fundraisers for the school. Home to nearly 400 students, Green Trails requires this type of collaboration from faculty, staff, and parents to cultivate the school’s four core values of respect, caring, responsibility, and perseverance. And it's working: In 2022, Green Trails was named a State School of Character. Go Gators!

Our children have been cared for and challenged to be excellent throughout their Green Trails careers. The curriculum allows for the gifted to grow at their own pace while pushing everyone else to strive for more. It truly feels like a private school environment at GT.
