Established in 1957, Central Middle School was originally a Junior/Senior High School. It has undergone expansions and updates in recent decades, and became Parkway Central Middle School in 1995. Today, 880 students in grades 6-8 fill the halls of this center of learning. Current students enjoy diverse opportunities in academics, athletics, and activities. The school features a middle school teaming model, which groups students at each grade level to receive instruction from a core team of teachers. This “school-within-a-school” method increases personalization of each student’s educational experience and facilitates a consistent learning environment. To further ensure all learning needs are met, Central Middle offers a gifted program and special education services. The school also hosts the district’s middle school English Speakers of Other Languages Newcomers program, serving more than 60 students from 37 countries. Extra-curricular activities include unique opportunities for students to pursue specialized interests, including dance, art, foreign language, science, and exercise. Intramural sports give every student the chance to participate in athletics, with seasonal sports throughout the school year. And for students who have a passion for fine arts, opportunities include theatrical productions, musicals, jazz band, and orchestra. With so much to offer, it’s easy to see why Niche gives Central Middle an “A” rating and ranks the school among the top 10 best middle schools in Missouri. Central has also been recognized as a Missouri Gold Star School, National Blue Ribbon School, National School of Character, and Energy Star School. Way to go Colts!

This school is crap all the students are either great or high in class. Some teachers literally hate their job and take it out on the students. They are incredibly rude. When I was having troubles at home I went to the counselor because that's what I thought was going to help. BUT NO they just emailed my parents like that was going to do anything. In conclusion this school SUCKS. Don't recommend.

I'm a current student here (8th grade) and i transferred last year from a different school. It's not a bad school in terms of learning and accommodating kid's learning styles, but when it comes to bullying or bad behavior i feel like most of it is overlooked unless it's physical. I am personally a v...

Excellent Teacher Parent communication. Great Facility and campus. The Staff cares about their Students and go the extra distance to insure comprehension and application. Teachers are extremely patient and creative, their assistants are very much engaged and capable.
