The Salmon P. Chase Elementary school is part of the Chicago Public School system in Logan Square and serves pre-kindergarten and kindergarten through eighth grade at 2021 North Point Street. Chase Elementary enrolls 331 students who enjoy an average class size of 24 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 12-to-1. 24 percent of Chase's students are considered proficient in reading and 20 percent test at or above proficiency levels in math. U.S. News and World Report ranked Chase Elementary as one of top 130 public middle schools in Chicago. Chase Elementary has earned Chicago Public School system's highest award for academic growth and excellence as a Level 1 Plus institution. Chase has also been recognized for its outstanding preschool curriculum with a Gold Circle of Quality seal and is considered an Exemplary Supportive School for its social and emotional learning programs. The recipient of numerous grants, including one from the Chicago Foundation for Education, children at Chase are encouraged to become actively engaged in the arts through poetry, opera, reading and writing workshops. The school’s athletic programming includes volleyball, soccer and basketball. Chase's Learning Garden provides students with an outdoor space to cultivate edible plants and develop healthy eating patterns. The teachers and Staff are nice. The students need to improve their social communication skills they can be sometimes rude i guess that is just the parents fault. The main office is not well welcomeing Students are easily given detentions and treated disrespect. Principle always in the office. The students have very strict rules. I love this school, teachers are great and the principle/Vice is always looking out for the kids. I like that it is a bully free school.
