The George Rogers Clark Elementary School located at 1045 S. Monitor Ave., teaches preschool through eighth grade students in the community of Austin. The school focuses on the Common Core subjects, biliteracy and academic achievement, according to its mission statement.
Kindergarten through second grade students improve their reading using the Learning A-Z computer application, accessible online for reading and listening exercises and comprehension quizzes. Through the PATHS curriculum, students enjoy two or more 20- to 30-minute weekly sessions of positive behavioral, psychological and social reinforcement.
Students also use software programs such as Compass Learning, Study Island and Achieve 3000.
Enrichment opportunities allow students to participate in the Chicago Children's Choir, Hubbard Street Dance Program and numerous science and extracurricular organizations, including the People's Gas Science Fair Club. Flying the red-and-black school colors proudly, Rogers Clark's Cougars compete in basketball, cross country, football, softball, volleyball, soccer, and track and field.

G.R Clark has been an amazing school for my daughter who never wanted to get up for school. She gets up now with no problem,she is excited, she is definitely being challenged here and i love it because she is very smart! The principal is very nice and attentive to your concerns.
