Named for a successful Chicago area businessman and noted philanthropist in the late 1800s, William G. Hibbard Elementary School serves Albany Park children in Grades K-6. The school opened its doors in 1916 and has undergone a history of renovations in the Century since.
A major addition in 1998 helped bring Hibbard into the 21st Century, with a new library, science and computer labs, and 24 new classrooms. Hibbard offers a well-rounded classroom curriculum. Its core values focus on developing students who are lifelong learners, problem solvers, critical thinkers and advocates for themselves and others. An extensive dual language program and classes for the gifted ensure that Hibbard students of all abilities and backgrounds receive dedicated instruction. Hibbard Elementary offers a robust after-school program that includes team sports and interest-based clubs like arts and crafts, dance and computer coding. The highlight of the extracurricular offerings is The People’s Music School at Hibbard, the only free music education program in the Chicago school system. For more than 40 years, the TPMS has helped Hibbard students learn to play musical instruments. This instruction allows kids to grow musically, socially and emotionally while granting them valuable experiences outside the traditional classroom. Students in the program have played venues across the country and overseas.

The school is really good they just have to fix their food and the rest is fine. Every year they have cultural dance that all the kids participate and dance and explain about their culture. The resources are excellent every year they have a walk a thin to help support teacher and missing resources to help students studying and getting a better education and experience in school.

The school is very good but there are a lot of fights and school violence and bullying but the teachers and staff act like nothing happened even though they went over to chase away the bullies.
