Unity Junior High School is a relatively new public school that serves more than 2,400 students in seventh and eighth grades. The school looks to interweave students, parents and the local community to create lifelong learners and global citizens. It supports students by providing an equitable, safe, positive and healthy learning environment. Unity Junior High uses a proficiency scale for grading that has four levels of proficiency, with one being the lowest and four being the highest. Students who earn a proficiency standard of three or four for all their quarterly classes are put on the Academic Honor Roll. Extracurricular activities include a reading club, mechanical robotics group, National Junior Honor Society, service-learning club, student council, yearbook club and more. Sports offered to students include soccer, bowling, volleyball, softball, wrestling, Special Olympics, basketball and dance. A recent survey of students and teachers recognized the school as having strong student-teacher trust. Most students who participated in the survey said teachers treat students with respect and listen to students’ ideas.

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Bullying was extremely frequent and the teachers either did nothing about or actually defended the bullying.

It wasn't such a good school it is big and holds many students, but there are more teachers that I believe don't care so much about being engaged with the students but when you find the couple teachers that love teaching here it just makes up for the other ones. They also have a stem program with the highschool down the street

i would like to give this school this rating mostly because it does do good as a overall school but the thing that causes it to be a bad school is all the fights that's going on i know this mostly because i go to this school it does help you on learning just like someone said it helps you learn but not maybe all the things that you maybe have to deal with later in life. overall great school but it seams like the teachers just fool around and don't do their job seriously, and to much fights. i'm trying to be nice giving them a 4 so take it.
