The Summit Country Day School, located at 2161 Grandin Road, offers the same belief as it has since the school’s inception by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1890 – ‘to teach is to influence a child forever.’ Located just five minutes from downtown Cincinnati SCD delivers an extraordinary educational experience, serving children starting at 18-months and continuing through high school. The Summit is a co-educational, Catholic, private, independent, and college-preparatory educational institution. Driving through the gates of Summit Country, you will find a mixture of the present which is accented by the historic. The Schiff Family Circle, located in the front of the main building, is an impressive brick-laid entranceway to the school. Not only does it serve as a drop-off and pick-up point for Upper School students, it ahs been used for Masses and other outdoor events. Adjacent to the circle is the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel. Designed with the dignity and ceremony of religious processions associated with church traditions, this magnificent structure features flying buttresses supporting Gothic Revival arches, and the main altar is made of Carrara marble and Mexican onyx. Other artistic features include stained glass windows crafted in Munich, Germany and the ends of each pew which were hand-carved by the early Sisters. The chapel is used for masses, weddings, and graduation ceremonies. From the Toddler Program (18-to-36 months) through the 12th grade, the Summit instills its Five Pillar Mission & Philosophy of developing students spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and artistically. This includes a Montessori pre-school model and a 13-year world language program. The Summit offers a three-season athletics program, featuring 20 varsity teams in grades 7-12. Summit offers four million dollars annually in financial aid to 40% of the student body.

I have loved my time at The Summit. The campus is beautiful and it makes the experience of highschool so much more impactful to be in such a tight knit community. I have been taught by very qualified teachers from day 1 and I feel that I am more prepared for college than some kids that go to different schools.

Our experience has been excellent. Starting with the Admission process. They are helpful, understanding and welcoming. The teachers want the students to learn and do well and keep the parents part of the process.

We love so much about this school. My kids that have graduated had a great experience and were well prepared for college. They received merit scholarships to good schools. Our youngest is currently receiving great support for her learning issues. The one thing I always say about Summit is that they...
