Waverly Elementary School is located near the center of the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. The public school serves 250 students from kindergarten through eighth grade and is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
The faculty at Waverly Elementary strives to inspire and empower students, known as the Waverly Warriors, to be lifelong learners and leaders. Waverly Elementary is a Leader in Me school designed to empower students with the leadership and life skills needed to thrive by creating a culture that develops social, ethical, emotional, physical and cognitive abilities. Waverly encourages strong parent involvement with a committed School Parent Organization and a 96% parent-teacher conference attendance rate.
Partnerships with PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great program, the Walz branch of the Cleveland Public Library and St. Peter and St. Coleman churches offers students unique opportunities to learn and grow. Extracurricular activities include basketball, youth empowerment opportunities, an anti-bullying program and peer conflict mediation.
