GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It was fine. Marching and symphonic band was pretty fun. Art was pretty fun too. I enjoyed the field trips to different colleges. We never really had a lot of teachers though. Every year a bunch of teachers leave. I think they should be treated better.

The teachers are very nice and easy to form a good bond with, they are definelty someone you can go and talk to if needed. The schools rules and policies are pretty strict, especially when it comes to dresscode and phones.

I can't really be too picky seeing as how it is a smaller, less funded school, but even then we still carry the titles of state champions in a lot of our organizations. They have great faculty that really care about your success and are willing to help you and actually teach you. I don't know exactly how else I would've turned out had I not grown up at Tarkington, but I like the way I am now so I wouldn't want it any different.

There are a lot of things messed up at this school. The first thing is that the admins do not always follow the dress code. They let boys wear finger-tip length shorts, but the girls would get a full day of ISS for wearing leggings with a long shirt that covers everything. When someone stands up for...

Do not send your child here if they are of color, part of the LGBTQ community, or are otherwise "abnormal". The staff is preppy, cliquey, and cold. Not to mention the community members that are especially intolerant.
