I enjoyed the support of the teachers and the layed back aspect of some of their teaching while still teaching the curriculum well. I personally found the office/council staff to be the worst part of the school. The councilors would do nothing to discuss why you're having issues or why you don't want to take a specific class. They would just force you to do it resulting in absence and not being involved when present in the class. I would go as far as saying on multiple occasions I can remember the counciling staff lied to my parents and I. Also the lack of after school activities or announcements of possible activities was minimal unless you were involved in a sport. I. hear about how we had a program and it didn't run because only one or two students came to the meeting because of poor communication between the school and non athletes. Overall I would have preferred any other middle school in the district over Algonquin.

One big problem at the is kids are told if they get into a fight to try to run away which is most of time impossible or to sit there and take it. If your kid defends themselves expect them to get suspended. But that's about it everything is fine
