GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience in Nestucca High School has been really good. Coming up from the middle school the seniors at the time were very welcoming. The seniors showed us around the school and even ate lunch with us, which made us feel at home.

I have been going to this school since I was in Kindergarten. I am now a senior. That's 13 years at this one school and I can honestly say I am very happy with the education I have received. I live and go to school in a very small town. We have merged 3 or 4 towns together to make the school as big as it is (high school has about 150 students). They do their very best to prepare us for college and teach us what ever they can in the amount of time they are given. Because we live in a small town there isn't a lot of diversity, but we can't really help that. I would say that about 70% of the school is white, 28% is hispanic, and the other 2% is black. With this in mind, I would like to say that the entire school is very accepting of other cultures and races. Our lack of students is made up by our incredible amount of parent involvement. Parents come into volunteer with the backpack program, coach sports, or even sell concessions at games. I am so proud to be a part of this school.
