I have delt with small town ignorance a lot since I got here. It has gotten a bit better but not fantastic. I have two college classes i'm in and plan to use our outreach program to get my EMT certification by graduation while still taking classes my senior year. Our staff is pretty good and understanding and willing to help

The close-knit community here is extremely welcoming and kind. The town is very small, so everyone knows everyone, and you're guaranteed to have the same teacher at least twice at some point, which is actually nice, as you form a tighter bond with them.
