I love the different options in certain subjects and the opportunities when available. I do however would like to be in a stable environment with consistent standards.

Columbia Jr/Sr high School is considered a poor school district so it's understandable that the quality of education isn't the greatest. For example, I didn't start writing essays until I was in 11th grade and even then I haven't reviewed grammar since the 8th grade. Despite its lack of a good quality education, some of the teachers were high quality and took a lot of interest in each of their students. I'm proud of graduating from this school.

I like that it is very small so you get to know a lot of students as well as teachers and get to build close relationships. It is very welcoming and easy to fit in. I wish they would have more opportunities when it came to classes because I was used to being in Honors and IB/AP classes but those weren't offered at Columbia. I feel like the material learned in some subjects is not rigorous enough for being "honors" classes.

I think there needs to be some truth here. Columbia is in the bottom 15% of all school districts in the state. For a district that only has three schools this is inexcusable. I'm a graduate of CHS,and proud to say so. I believe for the most part the majority of the Teachers are there for the right reason, and do a great job and it 's a hard job, God Bless our teachers.
