There’s a lot going on at Irmo High School, as there is never a boring moment to be found at this lively institution. A diverse selection of classes, extracurricular activities and a variety of pre-career training opportunities give students in ninth through twelfth grades a wide range of choices—and that’s only the start.
Nationally certified by Magnet Schools of America, Irmo High School is the International School for the Arts, blending the state standard core curriculum with visual and performing arts from around the world. In addition to arts integrated core classes, students can choose from such courses as photography, ceramics, stained glass, band, orchestra, world drums, chorus, theater or college level dance classes, to name a few.
Home of the Yellow Jackets, Irmo High School has a full athletic program and about 50 clubs and organizations serve a variety of student interests. The on-campus Air Force JROTC unit is both an activity and career preparation, and the Green Step School program focuses on environmental and sustainability issues.
This Escolares Academic Magnet is a magnet school within the magnet, offering an accelerated program of coursework for freshmen and sophomores in order to prepare them for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and Career programs, another specialized learning component, during their junior and senior years.

In Irmo, I would like to see a change in the way they treat and inform students. Some days you end up with a day notice or sometimes no notice at all about upcoming events. They don't practice much college readiness.

The fact that Irmo High School is a school of arts; It most definitely helped me find my career. I started taking cullinary and food nutrition classes at irmo. The guidance counselors also made me feel real comfortable with my choices and helped me find away for my needs in my future college life!

so far my overall experience at Irmo has been amazing in every way possible I love how the teacher adapt to each students learning ability and that the teachers and other staff around the school make the environment very comfortable and stress free the only thing that I hope to change for the years to come is more field trip for more learning opportunities for example go on college campus field trips for the fine arts and just in general with any class

Imro high has clearly dissapointed my by showing racial discrimiation and biased towards students of color.
