Graham Elementary and Middle School is a public K-8 community school located in the heart of the University neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. Graham operates independently of local school districts and is free for any student eligible to attend public school in Ohio, pending enrollment through the school's admission process. It serves approximately 425 students total across all grade levels annually, with average class sizes of around 20 to 25 students. In partnership with EL Education, the Graham Family of Schools curriculum is grounded in experiential learning, self-direction and connection to the community. Special programs unique to the school include adventure education, chess electives, community presentations, student-led conferences and fieldwork. Technology, social-emotional learning and trauma sensitivity training support and enrich the Graham student experience. While Graham Elementary and Middle School received below-average marks on the state’s most recent performance index, its notable diversity and unique approach to learning make it an ideal choice for those seeking a nontraditional public education for their children. Graham Elementary and Middle School is named in honor of Russel E. Graham, a successful real estate broker and respected community member whose early struggles in the traditional education system sparked his passions for independent study and lifelong learning. My son loves his school. He loves his teachers and is eager to share what he has learned with us and his friends from other schools. After 3 years here, it feels like family coming in to the school. Teachers and students greet me. We are very happy as a family that we chose this school, it was not our first choice but we could not have asked for a better fit for our special guy.
