Walled Lake Western High School is one of three high schools in Oakland County's Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Western accommodates around 1,200 students each year from Walled Lake, portions of Commerce Township, and the communities of Novi and Wixom. Core academic programs at Western are enhanced by advanced placement courses. Students can earn college credits, career path licenses and certifications through an Oakland Schools Technical Campus. Western also allows students to be involved in music, drama, theater and sports. Western's International Baccalaureate program gets much attention at this school. The program allows students to take two levels of advanced curriculum designed to help them achieve beyond traditional class offerings and enhance their opportunity to qualify for college scholarships. The program was established as an alternative to advanced placement testing. Students who typically attend Western classes also have an option to consider taking advantage of the district virtual learning program. The school has a wide-ranging athletics department that allows students to participate in several dozen competitive sports and lifetime athletic pursuits, from football to snowboarding.

This school NEEDS way more security present, to both prevent and stop the fights. Almost daily, I hear of fights breaking out.

i would not go to this school if you value yourself, not only are the students incredibly disrespectful and rude, but the administrators are the laziest people i think i have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. counselors/administrators do the bare minimum when it comes to assisting a student and half of the time what they do to "help" does nothing to fix your problems. this school is also HORRIBLE at helping accommodate mentally ill students, students will be ignored and treated like psychopaths by the staff at this school if they show any signs of mental illness, it's also basically impossible to get a 504 from here...

The choir program is phenomenal here at Walled Lake Western. This school is on the rough side of the 3 Walled lake High schools and surrounding area schools. Football is where most of the money goes to, so if you want to play go there. If you are female and want to participate in sports, go to any o...

This is such an awesome school. I would definitely recommend having your kids go here. I graduated in 2010. I loved going to this school, the first year was rough but I ended up finding out who my true friends were. I was in band and choir and I had such a blast. I was sad to leave when I graduated....

The great schools website should first correct the address of Walled Western High School. Check the school's website and you will see that the school is located in Walled Lake, not Commerce Township.
