Having just completed my final volleyball game of my senior year, I feel highly qualified to speak on the topic of school spirit. Many students contribute to school spirit. Because Trinity is a small school, the spirit week (usually occurring the same week of the state tournament for volleyball/soccer or basketball) is coordinated mainly by the senior class. The teachers trust us to not go overboard with planned spirit days and activities, so they give us the responsibility of leading the spirit week. This past spirit week, everyone in the school participated in some way or form. Our athletic teams are led by calm, knowledgeable coaches who care for the players long after they have left the school. The one (and possibly only) problem with our athletics is that we currently do not own a gym, so we often must rent one in the surrounding area. This occasionally causes some difficulty. For example, our girls' basketball team had to practice on a half-court for the entire season with only four full-court practices. Because we were so well-coached, however, we still made it to the regional tournament and won. :) Overall, the staff and students encourage physical fitness; however I don't believe that it is over-emphasized to a point where it becomes unhealthy for the student atmosphere.
