My overall experience when I attended J.P. Taravella High School was very neutral, I don't have any resentment toward the school when it comes to education and college readiness. The teachers are great, the environment is nice, the admin is a little iffy but you just got to take it in and let it go. It's still a great school as far as it goes when it comes to resources such as scholarships, along with giving you the ability to take college level classes and receive college credits.

During High school I wasn't very fond of the school I went to. However My Early Childhood education class inspired me to go everyday. Ms. Pichardo the teacher who led this class for all 4 years I was in it was an inspiration and was someone I could always rely on. She had her students best interest in mind and always pushed us to be better. For her I will be forever grateful. She gave me opportunities I could have only dreamt of. She helped me find a job in a preschool and she also allowed me to be her TA. This class and the community allowed me to grow in to the person I am today. Something I would like to see change is the violence on campus. I feel like people would get in to petty fights for no reason.

My biggest issue was college prep. Administration turned me away time after time all through my sophomore and junior year and now it is me senior year and I'm so behind and they blame me for not preparing in my past years despite me trying to. They truly on catered to students who were more academically gifted and ignored students like myself who either struggled or were a pretty average student.

In this, time and age of a Pandemic, contact with teachers parents and students is far less than ever. Therefore, when a teacher reaches out to parents regarding the success or failure of a child, it most certainly shouldn’t go unrecognized. I attended from 2002 - 2006. At the time, it was an A school. After one year, it became a C school, which had to do with redistricting students from underachieving public schools to Taravella. That's when things took a turn for the worst. The school leveled out at a D by the time I left. It was crow...

Horrible school. Administrators do not care about the students and are definitely not interested in their success. I will not waste my time going on about why and who, but this school is not what I thought it would be.
