GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have had a great experience going to Cowden-Herrick. I grew up here and am very thankful that I did. We are a small high school with fantastic administration that goes above and beyond for the students.

We are a small school but I feel safe. Doors are locked through out the day and there are practice drills that are planned and followed to learn how to deal with different situations - fires, tornadoes... There is no school nurse but there is a clinic near the school. Bullying is discussed and people come in to speak to students.

I loved that my school provides opportunities and pays for a health occupational class. I was able to go to nearby towns and have different medical experiences - from going to different nursing homes and hospitals to orthodontic practices. I also had the opportunity to see a baby being born which influenced my medical choice. I would like to be an OB nurse.
