The best school in Section 1. John Jay has an overwhelmingly intelligent student body and an extremely competitive academic atmosphere with good college placement.

Overall, I really loved John Jay and felt very involved in the community there. The biggest change I'd like to see is more funding for the arts. I think that it is very underrepresented at John Jay and should be given more attention.

John Jay has a lot of great teachers, clubs, and class options. Pretty safe and has the best robotics ecs ever tbh.

My daughter joined the school in 9th grade and I have to disagree with some of the comments. The kids have been very down to earth, welcoming and just 'good, decent kids'. If you enjoy a place where the students drive nicer cars than their teachers, cliches from hell, a 95% white demographic and encourages a stress level that isn't even seen by Harvard, then JJHS is the place for you!

yes the school has high test scores but thats only because you spend everyday practicing for the test and not talking the necessary time to really learn the information because a the end of the day higher test scores mean more money for them
