I have loved my time here. It was hard at first to adjust to high school life, but teachers helped a lot. This is a very sports focused school, and I am not a sporty kid. However, there is a ton of other things to get involved in. Teachers are accessible and ready to help.

My experience has fluctuated at John Jay. I've felt academically successful, comfortable, social, and included while also feeling left out, depressed, isolated, anxious, and even a failure at times. Through all I have experienced there, it has been quite a journey and it's safe to say I am happily ready to take the next step into the real world once I graduate.

Overall, I really loved John Jay and felt very involved in the community there. The biggest change I'd like to see is more funding for the arts. I think that it is very underrepresented at John Jay and should be given more attention.

My daughter joined the school in 9th grade and I have to disagree with some of the comments. The kids have been very down to earth, welcoming and just 'good, decent kids'. The teachers are dedicated and very approachable. My daughter was a high achiever in a different school district, but with great...

If you enjoy a place where the students drive nicer cars than their teachers, cliches from hell, a 95% white demographic and encourages a stress level that isn't even seen by Harvard, then JJHS is the place for you!

yes the school has high test scores but thats only because you spend everyday practicing for the test and not talking the necessary time to really learn the information because a the end of the day higher test scores mean more money for them
