The bus trip to and from the High School can be a bit uncomfortable but overall it is okay. The faculty and staff are for the most part great and can be very helpful and kind. The counselors are helpful and are for the most part easy to get in touch with for schedules and future schooling.

There is always something for you to do. As a band kid we were always doing something to raise money and parents always helped out. People care about the school and give it their true all, especially the students.

Jefferson County High School is the only high school in the county so it is very overcrowded. With how many people go there you would assume there would be more options for academics, but they tend to focus on ACT and trade schools. There are very few STEM teachers and they often have to take up a lot of classes due to "lack of interest."

The school has a nepotism problem and favoritism issue. My kids scored well above average on the ACT but neit...

I went to Jefferson County schools from 1976-1987 and had a great experience all the way through. As with any school system you have great teachers and a few that are there just to collect a paycheck. My son went through he Jefferson County School system K-12 and ended with honors when graduating.Je...

I was a graduate of this school and its sad that in the past four years I've heard and experienced nothing but horror stories about how the administration deals with the students. It's sad that the school has declined so much in the past 20 yrs since I graduated here.

My daughter started here a year ago and the staff and students are wonderful. They did great at making her feel welcome and accepted. Yes the school is under construction but all school are always under some construction. They are great at meeting her academic needs also.
