The Freshmen are separate from the other three grades at their own academy down the road, so it's easier for them to acclimate. The main campus isn't bad to learn, and the (honor and AP) teachers are some great people. Very helpful. Love the principals; since I'm very involved, I know them on a more personal level. It's kinda like any high school; not necessarily anything special, but involvement can make it great.

I started as a student in JCHS in August 2021. The campus has proved to be very safe and very active in after school activities and clubs.

Jefferson County High School has given me a great education over the past four years. I have learned so much from my teachers and you can really tell they care about my future. The worst part of my experience has been having to deal with inequality in sports. I have played on the varsity golf team all four years. We are the only team without an on campus practice facility. One change I would like to see is more equality within sports as well as throughout student involvement.

I went to Jefferson County schools from 1976-1987 and had a great experience all the way through. As with any school system you have great teachers and a few that are there just to collect a paycheck. I was a graduate of this school and its sad that in the past four years I've heard and experienced nothing but horror stories about how the administration deals with the students. It's sad that the school has declined so much in the past 20 yrs since I graduated here.

My daughter started here a year ago and the staff and students are wonderful. They did great at making her feel welcome and accepted. Yes the school is under construction but all school are always under some construction. They are great at meeting her academic needs also.
