GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Most teachers are very welcoming, accepting, and caring of students well being. Although there are a few staff members who don't care and don't want to take the step to care about students and often dismiss their problems. Overall the education for academics is fairly average, in trades you learn many different skills it's amazing with instructors who are patient and caring.

i am a senior now, and i have had quite a rounded high school experience. i think my best advice to any students is to be respectful to your peers and the staff because they really can be super helpful!! i also would say to act fast if you notice an issue whether with the class youre in or other things because the sooner you can get it fixed the better!! the teachers are a hit or miss, i have had a lot of luck with mine but i have had less than great experiences with some. i actually transferred out of ellis for a few months one year and am SO glad i transferred back. literally so glad. work is so easy at ellis and honestly.. not a lot of students are ever looking for help so the teachers are always there to help you personally if you want. i love the shop/academics balance too! a lot of people hate on the math program but i personally enjoyed it..the math "teachers" are the issue!!! not helpful really at all. freshman year is all you need to get through and then its a breeze!

What I liked most about the school is how accepting they are. No matter what your differences are you are not neglected. Everyone is special in their own way shape and form and in todays world not everyone is accepted for who they are. Their are very few people that are willing to stand up to those who cant accept others and Ellis Tech is a great example when it comes down to doing the right thing. The tech teachers are also amazing when it comes down to helping us learn our trades. As to academics the teachers are very kind and help push us towards our goals.

The Aleks math program is for the most part a teach yourself program. The students are not separated by ability or current course level so they aren't receiving any specific help in class. This prevents many students with learning issues from succeeding, in my opinion, because these students are una...

My experience at Ellis Technical High School was horrible because the math program is broken and the Electronics Technology shop is 95% paperwork, when they made it seem like I was signing up for building circuits.

This school is absolutely wonderful, it is so nice to see my son happy to go to school and excited about learning and his involvement with sports. Friendly and inviting.

I graduated in 1992 and learned a trade and enjoyed high school. Atmosphere was good.
