GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Danville Community High School has helped me to become better prepared for college. It has also helped me to open up and become friends with many people, especially, through the extracurricular activities that have helped me to become a better individual and have given me friendships that will go far beyond my high school years.

I don't have many complaints. I've heard about other school and how there's fights and bullying but I don't see that much at Danville. There's definitely a bigger emphasis on sports in our school culture. Lots of school spirit. We are lacking with some clubs by not having them available but we also have some random clubs that people have made just because they can. The school is in the process of construction, so the facilities are getting upgraded. I think the biggest thing for me would be the school's lack of organization with communicating opportunities to the students. By this I mean I wasn't aware of most clubs until this year. I didn't know the school had a newspaper until last year. Better communication is even more important now considering our expansion due to the influx of students.

I liked the small size of Danville. You know everyone and all the teachers make a relationship beyond the typical student-teacher relationship. Danville does not do an excellent job of including everyone and putting the student in student-athlete first.

Head football coach is horrible. Very selective and is not a great roll model. Doesn’t do anything for the kids. The principal and athletic director do nothing for students who need discipline. They just sweep it all under the rug. There is no support from principal. They rather just be a friend.

My child will not be going to Danville schools, because my entire K-12 experience there was awful. I was constantly bullied and made to feel like an outsider. I was punished for things that other students did and even once those other students were caught, they were not punished. Majority of the tea...

I can't wait for my son to graduate and leave such a negative, unhealthy atmosphere! Also really hope the referendum does not pass! It is completely unnecessary-the school just wants money, money, money for unjustifiable reasons. My son also heard that the school employed students to point out flaws...
