I graduated in 2019 from this school and I was satisfied academically but the school is seriously lacking in inclusivity. Students and teachers alike are extremely judgmental and a lot of students find it hard to find their niche because of this. Teachers play favorites and the school doesn't offer much to do except a couple clubs and sports teams.

I have gone to Decatur Heritage since kindergarten and it has been one of the biggest blessing that God has given to me. I don't take it lightly that God has provided for me the opportunity to go to DHCA and learn more about Him and His creation. At DHCA we learn the normal subject (i.e. math, science, English, history, etc.) however we learn them from a Christian worldview. Although some of the classes that we take are normal, some are not. At DHCA you take a different Bible class each year that prepares you for your life of impact on the community, the nation, and the world. These Bible classes are not feel good Bible classes but ones that really prepare you for life away from the comfort of your Christian home when your roots in the LORD need to be deep. Senior year you take an apologetics class that prepares you to be able to go to college and defend your faith on a college campus and beyond. Having this Christian education is going to prepare me to do great things.

This is a really great school to go to. But at the same time it is lacking in key areas, including: diversity, activities, clubs.

My son had to xfer to Decatur Heritage due to some very difficult family circumstances. At the end of the year, it was truly remarkable how much each teacher and key staff personnel invested in him and ensuring he was successful and was watched during this trying time.
