Flat Shoals Elementary School is a public institution that is part of the Rockdale County Public School System. The school strives to facilitate a dynamic learning community for students and to aid them in reaching their highest potential by providing them with a solid foundation that encourages them to be lifelong learners, as well as productive contributors to their local community and society at large.
Opened in 1973, Flat Shoals Elementary has a long and rich history of educating children from preschool through fifth grade. The school approaches the learning process as a partnership between not just the student and teacher, but also the students and the community. Along with an engaging curriculum that accounts for the students’ different learning styles, the school provides enrichment activities to help pupils grow not only academically but socially as well. These activities include art club, chorus club, Math 24, National Junior BETA Club, news crew, Rockdale honor chorus, running club and garden club.
Through these various activities and academic focuses, students are prepared to stand as their own individual selves as they matriculate to one of the local high schools in the area.
