As a student who transfer to Decatur High School half way through in 2023. The experience was quite amazing. I was very welcomed and the teachers were really sweet and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience and I enjoyed my time there.

Ag Mech was the best thing for me there. It taught me discipline. Bring back the good things for kids and focus on helping the parents teach the kids so they can get back to school and teaching instead of babysitting and worrying about kids being out of control.

Sporting events are so fun and the academics are great, but being in a small town obviously has its downsides lol.

Decatur High School has been a positive experience for my student. When he transferred into the district mid semester, the students and staff were welcoming, which eased the transition. While attending decatur high school i can say from the classes u took though out my year i can only remember about half of my courses because they would slap a textbook on the table instead of teaching students or make us read things on our laptops

I just graduated from this school and i have to say I loved it. No sport was more important than the other. I played softball and the coaches really cared about school before the sport. This school district is much better than the surrounding school districts. Decatur ISD parents are super involved...
