GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would like a big change at the DeForest High School to have more students involved with each other. More friendsships and less groups. I wish that students in school would accept everyone for who they are and not what other people think. Kids are mean. And it's so hurtful. In sports, in groups, even just at lunch. I would change the way people treat each other.

It has been a couple of years since I have been at DeForest, but before I graduated they did a mostly full redo of the school and added more to the school like a new pool, another baseball pit, and new classrooms. There are teachers there that care.

I don't feel as if we have very good college preparatory or life preparatory classes, I'm nervous to graduate because we were never taught about taxes, how to make the best decisions grocery shopping, and I had to do my own research on scholarships - no one put out links or told me when would be a good time to start, until I find it on my own and realize I could've applied my freshman year.

We have a daughter in college and another still in HS. We know we made the best choice for our kids. They have had opportunities not afforded to...
