Academy 360 is the “little school that could”. Driven by a mission to develop the whole child in body, mind and character, this pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school of 200 students offers proven academic programs, restorative practices, positive behavioral intervention strategies, and physical movement. Located at 12000 E. 47th Ave., Academy 360 also shares a space with several non-profits, linking it firmly to the community.
Each day, students engage in 60-minute blocks that include reading, math, and social studies and science. Midway through the day, they break from classroom instruction to eat a nutritious lunch that includes fruit and vegetable options from a daily salad bar. Lunch is followed by recess. Students enjoy the recreation area that incorporates outdoor classrooms, a greenhouse, and a garden. There are two creative playgrounds designed for safety and accessibility and a ball court. After recess, they transition to PE class, resulting in at least 60 minutes of activity per day. They then return to their classroom for art, music and additional reading.
The staff at Academy 360 are qualified, dedicated individuals and receive ongoing training. As a result, the Early Childhood Education classes are rated 4 out of a possible 5 with Colorado SHINES. For the 2021-2022 academic year, the school reported that 63 percent of their students reached reading grade proficiency. This is considerably above the state average.
