GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I appreciate the opportunities that open up to students their 11th and 12th years. It gets mixed opinions, but Running Start for me has been an incredible experience. Counselors do a great job of engaging with seniors as we approach the graduation date, which has also been super helpful.

I have enjoyed my time at Mount Rainier High School. Teachers continued to care about students' learning and academic needs during the pandemic. I appreciate that MRHS has the IB program which has helped me feel challenged in my everyday learning. However, I wish they had prepared us more for college as when I am now applying, I feel lost and am discovering things I should have been told years ago.

Get in the Advance Placement Classes for 9th & 10th grade & then get out as fast as you can to the Running Start program at Highline CC for 11th & 12th grade. If you can take this path you have a chance of making it. If you stay in the low level classes for 4 years at Mount Rainier HS, you will end...

the leadership kids just take over the school, it's like the school staff would rather hear what they have to say than anyone else
