GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Most of the teachers and staff are great. Some of the students are not the best but that's what you can expect from highschoolers. A few years ago there was a shooting, nobody was harmed though, due to the luck and safety from the school administration and the police.

Dixon High School was the place where I was able to figure out what I wanted to do and find myself. The environment was very warm and welcoming, and the staff members were so friendly. Some of my favorite memories were made at high school and I don't regret any of them. The only thing I didn't enjoy was when Covid-19 hit, which effected 3 out of my 4 years there. My senior year was the only thing I call a "normal" school year. We didn't have to wear masks anymore or sanitize our desks off. There are going to be bad days during your journey through high school but I promise those days don't last forever. I had my bad days but what got me through those was being with the people that I most enjoy being with.

Average academics, but the school seems to value sports over learning and puts a lot of the budget towards the crappy sports teams and not enough to building up the resources for teachers and students. A select few excellent teachers who love to learn and who are amazing at their job, but otherwise just a very average high school.
