Evansdale Elementary School provides kids with a solid foundation for learning, including a magnet program for children in STEM subjects and French and boasts a highly diverse student body of about 600 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade pupils. The school offers a unique dual language immersion program in which kindergarteners through fifth graders speak English in classes half the day and French in classes the rest of the day, becoming bilingual as they learn. This successful program has earned Evansdale the “LabelFranÉducation” seal of excellence, awarded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a result of its strong STEM curriculum, the school has won numerous awards in First Lego League Robotics, the Dekalb County School District Tech Fair and more.
To further provide kids with a well-rounded experience, Evansdale offers art and music programs which allow students to develop interest and skills in the arts. An after school program allows children to receive homework assistance, enjoy nutritional snacks and have fun playing with friends. Upon completion of fifth grade, Evansdale students attend Henderson Middle School before heading to Lakeside High School. The STEM-focused education that children get at Evansdale, along with the opportunity to learn two languages, leaves children well prepared for success in the global community.
