Southwest has a wonderful community culture and positive atmosphere. The staff and principal are very accessible and responsive. We have found most of our teachers to be very good. As a neighborhood school, it services a diverse group of students with widely ranging needs.

Our daughter just completed her first year at Southwest Elementary School and it was such an amazing experience for us as parents as well as our student. From the administration to the teachers, everyone did an excellent job to ensure we were connected and involved with school activities. We were also satisfied with our daughter's academic progress.

This school is family oriented. Many staff have children or grandchildren who attend the school. Southwest has a very active PTA which provides grants to enrich the classrooms.
