Since 1965, Countryside has been an essential addition to the Edina Public Schools family. Countryside Elementary School serves students from kindergarten to fifth grade in the welcoming neighborhood that shares its name. In addition to the quality education, dynamic curriculum and welcoming community that all Edina elementary schools share, Countryside is known for its Continuous Progress and Spanish Immersion programs.
The primary goal of the Continuous Progress program is to promote long-lasting relationships and community. Students in first and second grade learn together in a classroom with two teaching partners. This group then moves on to another multi-grade room of third, fourth and fifth graders. A multi-grade approach helps students get to know their teachers and classmates in a stable environment from one year to the next. Continuous Progress classrooms are only available at Countryside and Highlands schools.
Countryside Elementary uses a strategy known as two-way Spanish immersion. Students who speak English as a first language join with students who speak Spanish as a first language to create dynamic learning opportunities. Bilingual teachers instruct students in core curricula while imparting both Spanish and English language education.
These two dynamic programs are just a few ways that Countryside Elementary School promotes unforgettable learning experiences in Edina. Summer programming, after-school care, gifted student assistance and more all await students enrolling in Countryside Elementary.

The principal who works there and goes by the name Pergman is very rude & neglects special needs students. She is very dismissive and does not tend to students like needed. The school leaders have also been very dismissive about the situation. I am very disappointed and upset about this. Even with proof they have tried to deny it, imagine if there wasn't any. I do not recommend this school to anybody.

OK, so just finished year one at Countryside. They blew us away, they have done so much for our son, I wish I could give more than 5 stars, they have given so much to us. Our son enetered the year in the bottem 25% of hus class. through Succes center and some pretty fantatci rgular teaching and subs...

I have 3 grandchildren at Countryside Elementary and they all have different needs and interests. The staff at Countryside seems to be able to help each one thrive and grow.
