My experience at Elgin High School has been not too bad to say the least. When I first moved here from Tennessee, I was a really bright student and very ahead of most of the classes that I was put in. Academically the school was very behind so I haven't really gotten much of a good education. The chemistry class and math classes I have taken the teachers were very good teachers and I have learned a lot from them in the process and they really know how to teach a class to make sure their students excel in their class. I would like to see some changes in the staff members and to make it not as strict as it is, because it would bring a whole new experience and light to the school. Overall, the school is not bad, I don't think it will make their students college ready.

The school itself isn't bad and is quite safe. I would like to see academics improve as I feel it is not to where it should be. Other than that everything else is pretty good. Select sports are well rounded.

My four years at Elgin High School will live with me forever. When I moved to Elgin in 8th grade, I was warmly welcomed. I've made many friends over the years. The teachers are really nice and helpful. All they want for you is to succeed. With Elgin being a small town, it's like everyone is family. You can always ask a friend or teacher if you need help with anything. The facilities are very nice and well-kept. I'd want my kid to go here if I were a parent.

Lack of professionalism. Need more teaching instead of open your book and read on your own or take whatever notes you deem necessary during my 15 minute lecture.

While the school is a fabulous place I wish that certain teachers weren't so uptight and or rude. If they were more open and optimistic. There are a select few teachers who are cheerful, funny, and enjoyable to be around but not all of them are. If your child has social anxiety I would recommend Hom...

If your child plans to attend college after high school, the English cirriculum (regular or AP) does not provide sufficient preparation for college English courses. Even though your child may do well according to Oklahoma standards, don't let that fool you. If your child is able to enroll in an Engl...
