GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

What I loved most about Elkmont High School is that I know everybody there because it was such a small town. Everyone is friends with everyone and there is no hate. Something I would like to see changed is allowing there to be more classrooms. Our school has 14 portables that aren't comfortable to be in during the winter and during other weather problems.

I enjoy the few teachers who are actually passionate about their careers, and want to help students.

In Elkmont High School I had the privilege to know mostly all the students and teachers in my class. Elkmont had a sense of community to it. The teachers weren't only there to teach they genuinely cared a lot about their students. I do wish Elkmont had a better culture of greatness. Most students did the bare minimum. Students that did more than that were great, but that is where the culture needs to be elevated. The bare minimum can not be the baseline and the school should strive for better.

Elkmont is an excellent school. It is a K-12 school which lowers the ratings on here but the teachers are one on one and the kids really get the attention they need. They are one of the best schools I have seen. It is a small school for the little area of Elkmont but don't disregard the great staff...

Elkmont is a typical example of a small rural school. Pros: Close knit, a school that the same families have attended for generations, your child will be known by name rather than as a number, smaller class sizes and moves at a slower place. Unfortunately, there is little that is exceptional. It is...

There is a serious problem at this school. There is a boy that is constantly causing problems and doesn't have any consequences for his actions. It doesn't make sense why this student is allowed to do as he pleases. Other students are punished for small things while this student gets away with every...
