Named for a beloved, long-serving teacher, principal and school administrator in the district, the Alice Terry Elementary school was built in 1958 to handle housing growth in the neighborhood of Sheridan, southwest of Denver, Colorado. Serving about 200 children in kindergarten through grade two, the school’s vision is to empower all students to strive for success, and to positively impact the changing world.

Home of the Pandas, Alice Terry provides small class sizes, daily in-classroom breakfast for all students, plus a curriculum that includes performing arts, physical education, technology and STEAM concepts. The school encourages a strong sense of school pride, which administrators believe will lead to greater student engagement. Alice Terry prides itself on its qualified and caring teachers, and ensures they are able to prepare students for later elementary school in a safe, challenging and fun learning environment.

Parental involvement is encouraged at Alice Terry, and is evident in extracurricular clubs such as the Morning Mileage Club, where parents, teachers and students meet each morning before school to walk. The school’s mission is to create a collaborative school culture of diverse learners that have the knowledge, skills, and confidence that inspires innovation, creativity and social responsibility.
