Englewood Middle School serves grades 7 and 8 and is located on the Englewood Campus (TEC) at 3800 South Logan Street in Englewood. This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2014. Two other schools are on campus—Englewood High School and the Englewood Leadership Academy. As members of this campus, students are provided with a personal iPad to aid in course instruction and homework. The Englewood Middle School has 250 students with a dedicated mission to pursue academic excellence in a creative and diverse environment. Students participate in STEAM. Science, technology, engineering, art, and math. STEAM subjects, when taught together, create an intentional learning approach, fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students. Students also benefit from small class sizes and personalized learning paths. The Pirates have plenty of extracurricular options. Students can choose from interscholastic athletics such as soccer, volleyball, and cross-country. Afterschool clubs like the art, boxing, writing, and tech clubs keep young minds busy. During the day, students can choose classes in Art, Ceramics, Choir, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Foreign Language, Culinary Arts, Drama, Physical Education, Yearbook and Publishing, Business, Health, and Nutrition, and Student Council/Leadership Bus transportation is available, as well as hot breakfast and lunch. Support services include a center-based program for Affective Needs and Significant Support Needs, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Services, and Gifted Education. All students can participate in AVID—Advancement Via Individual Determination to help students with future outcomes such as college or vocation. Enrollment is based on CHOICE if outside of the school boundary.

Englewood Middle School has done an excellent job in dismantling the systemic racism that was present at its counterpart school, Englewood Leadership Academy. We are excited to see the future of EMS. Drugs are available easily in this school. Administration is overzealous in punishments. The teachers care and work hard to provide opportunities for growth. But that alone isn’t enough to outshine the problems.

This school may not be perfect but in the end the teachers truly care about your education and yourself. When I was through a rough time my teachers we're there for me and got me through my schoolwork. The students there are okay overall. Also, EMS now has track.
