Chiaravalle means "valley of light," and the Chiaravalle Montessori School seeks to illuminate your child's education with freedom of choice, an independent mindset and the power to take risks and make mistakes. A fixture of the Evanston community since 1965, Chiaravalle Montessori enrolls around 200 students with a varying student-to-teacher ratio depending on the grade taught.
Situated just three blocks from Lake Michigan, Chiaravalle Montessori's original home was designed by Daniel Burnham, an influential architect of the Beaux-Arts movement. Chiaravalle's three-story LEED Platinum North Wing, built in 2015, includes a global learning lab, the Da Vinci Studio, a library and a new gymnasium. In 2017, Chiaravalle Montessori officially became a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School.
Mixed classrooms place younger and older students together, creating a dynamic and inclusive environment for knowledge sharing. The school offers classes for infants and toddlers, early childhood and students in first through eighth grade.
