I've been a student at Vanden High School for all four years. They have an amazing wellness program available to students with a facility on campus. The counseling team does an amazing job advertising program opportunities and college preparation. The teachers here are amazing with a wide range of diversity in faculty and students. In recent years we've had many fights and safety issues. The 2025-2026 school year hasn't had a single fight so far so that is progress for the school. We do not have off campus lunch. Vanden students get out early and start later every other Wednesday.

Vanden High School, originally built for military kids, contains a diverse campus of students and teachers of many different backgrounds, ideologies, and ethics. Most teachers (at least the ones I had) care about mental health which is great and also getting students (specifically seniors) ready for college. However, there are a few teachers who aren't as empathetic and are much stricter. As for admin (especially as a leadership student) aren't open to compromising ideas that are meant to increase the warmth and connection between our students. As soon as we propose reasonable ideas with reasonable steps to achieve it, it feels as though issues are being made up in order to shut down ideas. In addition, I feel like a lot of the students who should be disciplined aren't. However, I don't know if that falls under admin's or the student's parents' umbrella. Overall, the school is unique, but could use touch ups on staff as well as facilities.

this school ruined my son's life he came home everyday crying his freshman year saying people dump him in trash cans and more. My son was also racially profiled saying the teachers were treating him differently because of his color. Do not send your children here.
