Forest Elementary School
Forest Elementary serves kindergarten through fifth grade students with a public school education that empowers them to become valuable members of the community.
Technology use in the classroom helps teachers at Forest Elementary improve student engagement and learning, and each student is given a Chromebook for a 1:1 student to device ratio. Committed to promoting equity, Forest Elementary School has updated its classroom libraries to include inclusive text representing the school district's diverse population.
Seeking to close performance gaps, Forest Elementary works with students to increase their math comprehension and reading proficiency across a nine step plan that involves problem solving and practicing reasoning and abstract thinking skills.
Students at Forest Elementary enjoy a core curriculum of English language arts, mathematics and social studies approved by the Farmington Public Schools district. Students participate in field trips to enhance their classroom experience and enrich their learning.
Children attending Forest Elementary may participate in before and after school care through the YMCA.
Extracurricular activities like "Forest Hoops" celebrate sport and the Student Council, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Culture Club provide students with leadership opportunities.
Preparing students for middle school, Forest Elementary supports diversity and a commitment to the community.
