GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The school is okay overall but they go a little too hard with the dress code for the girls and how they don't really care about how the students feel at school.

I am a senior at Fayette County High School. I have been in Fayette since Kindergarten and their academic skills is the best thing about Fayette County Schools. They always insure that you are prepared for the next grade and for when you graduate and go off to college. The only thing I would say that I would like to see change is have more involvement with the music program but other than that the school is always prepared and the faculty is very friendly.

I like that my school is not excessively large. My graduating class only has 100 students. I feel like the learning environment is much better and i have more one on one time with my teacher to really learn and get help if i need it. If i could change one thing about FCHS, i'd bring more teachers into the school so that there isn't 1 teacher having to teach 3 different classes, and they could focus more on just one and helping others to really understand that subject.

Does not push the kids to look ahead. It seems they are like the schools of the 1950's and just get through and go to work.

The focus here seems to be "just stay in school and do the minimum to get by."
