My experience at fernley high school was interesting, i've met some really good teachers that know how to teach a student, But some just don't care. The administration is not supportive with bullying or a student that is struggling with their mental health. I would rate going 2/5 stars.

Fernley High has two great medical programs- EMT and CNA for juniors and seniors, but do not offer many AP classes due to lack of interest or available teachers for the topics.

the main issue is that they hire the incorrect people for the positions they need. they're desperate for educators to fill their roles, so they hire just about anyone. several incidents of inappropriate student-teacher relationships have been alleged and reported, with little being done. with that obvious downside out of the way, the atmosphere of the school is more welcoming than i initially expected it to be, considering the area. the food is somewhat decent and open campus during lunch. another downside is the antics of trying to switch classes for any reason, as recently, they've implemented the idea that you cannot switch classes for practically any reason, which is frustrating and difficult.

My experience as a parent of Fernley High School was awful. Unless your child is a star athlete, stay as far away as possible. Pay out of pocket for private schooling or even home school your child. The dress code is getting out of hand. I understand no spaghetti straps ect., I also understand the two finger strap rule. Now it's no sleeveless tops. They must be at least cap sleeves.
