Located on the campus of Mott Community College is Mott Middle College, part of the Genesee Intermediate School District. This unique public high school is open to all students in the Genesee county school district and a select number of students in surrounding counties beginning their ninth-grade year. Mott Middle College is part of a growing trend of middle and early colleges, programs designed to give high school students a head start towards college by allowing them to take college credit courses alongside their high school classes. The school has a rigorous admissions process that includes attending a parent night, completing an assessment, a parent and student interview in addition to a summer orientation. Students can take a determined amount of college credits each year based on several factors, and every student is expected to graduate with at least three college credits. To graduate, every student is required to complete an unpaid internship and a portfolio that they will present to a committee before graduation. Students also commit to what is called a “fifth year” of high school, consisting mostly of college courses. The school has just over 300 students and has a goal of retaining 75% of its students through the fifth year. If your student is looking for a school where they can be challenged and grow, Mott Middle College is a great option.

This school definitely gets you ready for college since the first year you arrive. This school is a safe environment and your class is like your family. Mott has a 0 fighting policy and the students follow accordingly. In all my 3 years attending there has not been a single fight in school. This school is honestly the best choice you can make if you want a better future.

I only attended MMC for the last 2 years of my HS experience, and I have to say that out of the 6 high schools I attended, this school readied me for college more than any of the other schools. I learned so much about real life at this school than I did anywhere else.

I'm a student who attended Mott middle college for my sophomore year, and it was one of the greatest eat experiences of my life.
